How to set up and use a crypto wallet for a Realchems payment

A wallet is the tool; the order instructions are the map. This guide helps you choose a workable route, set up access, obtain the correct coin and prepare to send it. Once your wallet is ready, the separate Crypto Tutorial walks through the actual Realchems payment screen by screen.

On this page What you need for a payment Choose your route Set up a hosted account Set up self-custody Get funds ready Use the wallet with an order Find your transaction record Protect access and get help

A wallet is access

It lets you control or request a transfer. The assets are recorded on their network, not stored as files in the app.

Two common routes

Use a hosted exchange account or a self-custody wallet. The setup and recovery responsibilities are different.

Check Send support

Owning the coin is not enough. The provider must support external transfers on your order’s required network.

Keep secrets secret

Support needs an order number and TXID, never your private key, password or recovery phrase.

Step 1 Understand what you need for a payment

A crypto wallet lets you access an asset and authorise a transfer. A hosted account lets a provider manage access for you; a self-custody wallet puts recovery and security in your hands. An address is a destination for receiving a coin on a particular network. A recovery phrase or private key is a secret that can give access to a wallet. It is never an address to send a payment to and never something The Crew will ask to see.

For a Realchems order, you ultimately need four things: an account or wallet you can access, the coin offered at checkout, permission to send that coin on the required network, and enough available balance after any fee. You also need to be able to find the transaction ID after sending. If any one of those is missing, set it up before attempting the transfer.

Step 2 Choose your route

Route A Hosted exchange account

A hosted provider may let you create an account, buy crypto and send an external withdrawal from one app. This can be a straightforward starting point if that provider supports the coin and network shown for your order. The provider controls the keys and applies its own identity checks, withdrawal limits, fees and processing times. You may be able to recover a forgotten login through it, but Realchems cannot unlock the account or speed up its review.

Route B Self-custody software wallet

A self-custody app lets you authorise transfers with keys you control. It can be suitable if you want to manage those keys and your own backup. The trade-off is simple: if your device or recovery information is lost and you cannot restore the wallet, neither the provider nor Realchems can recover it for you. You may still need another service to obtain crypto and transfer it into this wallet.

What about a hardware wallet?

A hardware device can keep signing keys separate from your phone or computer. It is an additional setup choice, not a requirement for a Realchems payment. It still needs a safe backup and a careful check of the address, network and amount on the device. “Hardware” does not mean “nothing can go wrong.”

Whichever route you choose, confirm external Send or Withdraw is supported for the coin and network your current order requires. The names and options shown at checkout can change, and a guide cannot choose a provider on your behalf.

Step 3 Set up a hosted account

Create and verify access

Open the provider’s official site or app listing and check that you are at the genuine address. Create an account using the information the provider requests, set a strong unique password and enable two-factor authentication if offered. Complete any verification the provider requires. Realchems cannot waive those steps.

Check external withdrawals before buying

Before buying, locate the provider’s supported assets and withdrawal networks. Check that the coin can be sent externally on the network named by your Realchems order. Also check minimum withdrawal amounts, fees, any time before a new purchase becomes withdrawable, and whether the provider lets you add a required memo or destination tag. If it does not support all required fields, choose another compliant route before sending.

Buy the selected coin

Once the account is ready, use the provider’s Buy, Trade or Convert screen to obtain the exact coin you intend to send. Review the price and purchase fee before confirming. Then look at Available to withdraw, not only the headline balance. The transfer fee may be separate from the cost of buying the coin.

What the screens may call the next action

Look for Send, Withdraw or Transfer to external address. “Transfer between my accounts” may be an internal move and will not pay the order. When you send, the provider may first show a withdrawal ID, then an on-chain transaction hash or TXID after broadcast. Keep both if they appear.

Step 4 Set up a self-custody wallet

Install and create

Choose a wallet whose official documentation confirms support for the coin and network you need. Install it from the official source. Select Create a new wallet if this is a new setup, follow the app’s current instructions and protect access to the device with a strong passcode or password. Do not import a recovery phrase into an unfamiliar site or app to “check” whether the wallet works.

Back up recovery information

The wallet may provide a recovery phrase or another backup method. Follow its backup instructions exactly, preserve the words and their order if a phrase is used, and store the backup where only you can access it. Never send it to The Crew, an exchange contact or someone in a chat. Anyone who obtains a usable phrase may be able to access the assets. Losing it may leave you unable to restore the wallet.

Receive funds into your wallet

Find the wallet’s Receive screen for the relevant coin and network if you plan to move crypto into it from an exchange. Copy the receiving address and check that the sending service uses the same network. A transfer from an exchange into your own wallet is separate from the later transfer from your wallet to Realchems. It can incur an additional fee and produce its own TXID; do not confuse that first TXID with the payment TXID.

Find the Send screen

After the incoming transfer has arrived and the funds are available, find the wallet’s Send screen. Check that you can select the required asset and network, enter a destination address and add a memo or tag if your order requires one. If a required field is unavailable, stop before sending and check the wallet’s official instructions.

Step 5 Get enough available funds ready

Do not buy a coin before checking what the current order accepts. If you already own crypto, verify that it is the same asset on the same network and that it is available to send. A similarly named token on another chain is not automatically interchangeable. Converting or moving assets can create extra fees, delays and new transaction records.

If you need to buy crypto, use a provider available to you and complete its required checks. Review the provider’s quote, fees and withdrawal rules. Check the amount that will arrive after a transfer, not just the amount leaving the account. The order may show a precise crypto amount or give euro-based conversion instructions; follow those current instructions. If the amount required is unclear, ask before sending rather than choosing a round number.

A quick readiness check

Can you open the Send or Withdraw screen? Is the correct coin available? Can you select the network required by the order? Is there a field for a required memo or tag? Is the available balance enough after fees? Can you later obtain a TXID? If the answer to any question is no, the payment route is not ready yet.

Step 6 Use the wallet with a Realchems order

Place the Realchems order first and open its payment instructions. Copy the current destination address and check the coin, network, amount and any memo or tag. Open Send or external Withdraw in your wallet, enter those fields, review the fee and amount expected to arrive, then compare the final screen with the order. Only then confirm the transfer. Do not reuse an address from a previous order.

The Crypto Tutorial gives the full sequence for this part, including what to check at every screen and how payment confirmation differs from dispatch. Keep it open while you send rather than relying on memory. If the checkout route is unavailable or the payment details look inconsistent, use the Payment page or contact The Crew before transferring.

Step 7 Find the right transaction record

After you press Send, open the activity or transaction history for that outgoing transfer. Look for a TXID, transaction hash or explorer link. This is the payment record The Crew can use to trace a broadcast transaction. A provider may also show an internal order or withdrawal reference. Save it, but label it correctly; it may not be the on-chain TXID.

Keep the Realchems order number, coin, network, sent amount, date and a screenshot of the transfer status. Send the TXID and order number through the official Contact page, as explained in the payment tutorial. A wallet message marked Completed does not itself confirm that the order has been matched or dispatched.

Step 8 Protect access and ask for help safely

If you cannot log in to a hosted account or a withdrawal is held, use that provider’s official support. Realchems cannot reset the account. If you cannot access a self-custody wallet, follow that wallet’s official recovery instructions using the backup you kept. Do not give your phrase to someone who offers to “recover” funds in a chat.

If a transfer was sent on the wrong network, to the wrong address, with the wrong coin or without a required memo, contact The Crew promptly with the order number, TXID and a precise description of the mistake. Some errors cannot be recovered. If the sending service was an exchange, its support may also need to investigate. Do not repeat the payment while the first transaction is unresolved.

A clear transaction record is more useful than a long theory about what went wrong. Keep your keys secret, keep the payment details together and let The Crew check the order against the transfer.
